Outline of "BETWEEN YESTERDAY & TOMORROW" (hereinafter referred to as "BYT")

In 2021, 14 filmmakers participated in a web movie project to create short films based on the instructions to "film a day, record voice the day before, record voice the day after". A special website is now available to view the films along with the films from 10 years ago, produced under the same project

[*Note] What is previous "BYT 2011"?
In 2011, just after 3/11(Great East Japan Earthquake) , SOL CHORD called for filmmakers to create 5-minute short films based on "instructions". 32 filmmakers participated over the course of a year, and 60 films were released online. The films were shown as an omnibus film at numerous film festivals and exhibitions. The content of the films is not limited to 3/11, but diverse works are gathered from all over the world. The 'instructions' was conceived by the founder, Shinjiro Maeda (SOL CHORD), to create a 5-minute short film in 3 days. The film was to be completed by "filming a day, recording voices the day before, and the day after. Edit the second day's footage to match the voices recorded on the first and third days.

16th Japan Media Arts Festival, Excellence Award in Art

"BYT 2011" was also presented as an omnibus film.
Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival 2011, The 16th Art Film Festival (Aichi Arts Center), Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2012 " How Physical" (Tokyo Photographic Art Museum), Image Forum Festival 2013, Fukushima Film and Media Festival 2013, etc.
